Soft evening light meets the waves of Nazaré

Dancing Light brings together two moments on the coast of Portugal. In the first, the evening sun sparkles on the water at Costa Nova beach. In the second, big waves at Nazaré tower up, roll over and break.

Madlen Duderstedt photographed both in 2025, on a road trip down the coast from Porto, and layered them into a digital double exposure: the power of the ocean, softened by the glitter of a gentle sunset.
