From a forest floor in Germany to a sea in Indonesia
Ocean Gold brings four nature photographs from different corners of the world into one image. The base is brown tree bark covered in fine green lichen, photographed in a forest in western Germany and mirrored into a symmetrical pattern. On top sits a close-up of the same lichen: up close, its tiny branching shapes look like a landscape of their own.
Then comes the sea. Madlen Duderstedt flew her drone over the Togian Islands in Indonesia, where the waves seen from above look like tie-dyed fabric. A rainbow completes the digital multiple exposure.
Close up and from above
Lichen on bark and waves seen from the air echo each other in Ocean Gold. It is a layered piece that reveals more the longer you look.
