A festival disco ball under a New Zealand sky
At the Melt! Festival in Ferropolis, near Gräfenhainichen in Germany, a giant disco ball stood mirrored in the lake, clouds and all. Madlen Duderstedt photographed the scene, mirrored the image and layered it, in a digital double exposure, with pink and violet sunset clouds from Lake Tekapo on New Zealand's South Island.
A disco ball isn't nature, but the festival sits right in the middle of it, and music plays a big part in Madlen's life. She wanted to bring both together and searched for a sky that would harmonise with the glittering sphere.
Where music meets landscape
Disco Fields is a piece for anyone who carries a festival summer in their heart.
