Where the rainforest meets the sea
Under the fan palms at Cape Tribulation, the light comes down in layers: green on green, fronds spread open like hands above your head. This is the Daintree in Far North Queensland, often called the oldest tropical rainforest on Earth, and the place where it runs straight down to the Great Barrier Reef.
For this piece, Madlen Duderstedt layered those fan palms with the sunlit coast of Raglan, New Zealand, using digital double exposure. Two places, a sea apart, woven into one.

A blanket first: for the sofa, the bed, the reading chair on a cool evening. Hang it up, and it becomes a large textile artwork. The weave gives the photograph depth and warmth you can feel.
