A festival disco ball under a New Zealand sky
At the Melt! Festival in Ferropolis, near Gräfenhainichen in Germany, a giant disco ball hung by the lake, reflecting the water and the sky around it. Madlen Duderstedt photographed it and layered the image, in a digital double exposure, with pink and violet sunset clouds from Lake Tekapo on New Zealand's South Island.
A disco ball isn't nature, but the festival sits right in the middle of it, and music plays a big part in Madlen's life. She wanted to bring both together and searched for a sky that would harmonise with the glittering sphere.
Where music meets landscape
Disco Fields is a piece for anyone who carries a festival summer in their heart.
